AX Score

What public evidence can agents use?

Check available public evidence across five readiness dimensions. If evidence is missing or inaccessible, the result explains the limitation instead of inventing a score.

This tool analyzes publicly accessible websites only. Internal, localhost, and IP addresses are not supported.

Methodology · 100 points

What the AX Score measures

The analyzer reviews a public website across five AX dimensions. Each dimension contributes up to 20 points. The total is a point-in-time diagnostic of the website evidence an agent can access, not a rating of the company or product behind it.

Public evidence can change after a redesign, documentation update, access-policy change, or new error state. Re-run the score after material changes and compare the dimension breakdown, not only the total.

  1. 01DiscoverabilityCan an agent find and identify the right content?Descriptive page titles, crawlable content, explicit metadata, and stable public URLs.
  2. 02NavigabilityCan an agent understand the structure and choose a valid route?Clear headings, descriptive links, consistent labels, and paths that expose the next step.
  3. 03OperabilityCan an agent complete a supported action?Named actions, structured inputs, declared requirements, and machine-readable documentation.
  4. 04RecoverabilityCan an agent recover when a route, action, or assumption fails?Useful error states, retry guidance, current alternatives, and links back to valid resources.
  5. 05TransparencyCan an agent represent capabilities and limits accurately?Clear pricing, permissions, constraints, approval boundaries, and last-updated information.

Interpretation

Read the shape, not only the total

Two websites can earn the same total for different reasons. Use the lowest dimension and the supporting findings to decide what to inspect first. These examples show common score shapes. They are illustrations, not assessments of a specific brand.

Example 01

Easy to find, hard to act

Discoverability and Navigability are strong, while Operability is weak.

The site explains the product clearly, but supported actions or machine-readable instructions are missing.

Example 02

Operable, hard to qualify

Operability is strong, while Transparency is weak.

An agent can complete a task but may misstate pricing, permissions, limitations, or when human approval is required.

Example 03

Clear until something fails

The main path works, while Recoverability is weak.

A stale link, failed action, or incorrect assumption leaves the agent without a useful next step.

Separate ecommerce path · Optagen diagnostic

Continue from AX into commerce intelligence.

The AX Score evaluates how well agents can discover, understand, trust, and act on a website. It does not measure revenue or margin. Ecommerce operators can continue separately with Optagen for a read-only diagnostic across margin, pricing, inventory, returns, demand, and marketing. Nothing changes without operator approval.

Score FAQ

How to use the diagnostic

What does the AX Score measure?
The AX Score is a 0-to-100 diagnostic across Discoverability, Navigability, Operability, Recoverability, and Transparency. It evaluates agent experience on a public website.
How is the score calculated?
Each of the five dimensions contributes up to 20 points. The analyzer reviews public website evidence, returns a dimension breakdown, and adds the dimension scores to produce the total.
Does AX Score measure AI search visibility?
Discoverability is one part of AX, but the full score also covers structure, actions, recovery, and honest constraints. It is not a ranking for one AI model or one query.
Does a low AX Score prove lost revenue?
No. AX Score does not measure revenue, margin, demand, or financial performance. It identifies agent-experience evidence to investigate.
What should I do after scoring?
Start with the weakest dimension, inspect the listed findings, make the relevant website or documentation change, and score again. Ecommerce operators can continue separately with Optagen's read-only commerce diagnostic.
